Played two sets for the older groups at the ABC early childhood learning centre Mount Helen this morning.
They had lots of decorations all over the room that helped make for really vibrant set. I used the imagery I could see to prompt new songs and encourage anticipated suggestions from the kids. (Easy!) I didn’t have permission to photograph in the centre, but they may send some usable ones – i.e. no kids faces – to me for later. The rooms are arranged like most other ABCs; a bit warren like, but fun and functional.
Had to try to figure rhymes for “chocolate” (went with “the lot of it”) and “broccoli” (hopped happily) for my “what else could Old Mother Hubbard buy?” bit. Congratulations to the parents of the boy who made that suggestion!
So, I had a good time and they seem keen already to get me back to play for the littler kids!
