Scooter Ballet

Jasper rode up to me on the scooter we’d borrowed from the wonderful Ballarat Toy Library calling “Watch this, Daddy; Scooter Ballet!”

He then craned his head back and stuck out one leg as he sailed past. Just like ballet, on a scooter.

Amazed, I asked him to do it again do I could take a photo, but that proved rather tricky as you can see from my best attempts above. I went to tell Rach and learned that he’d been doing the move already but that calling it “Scooter Ballet” was her idea. Good call.

I’m chuffed that the idea appealed to Jasper’s sense of fun as I’ve always enjoyed watching ballet. I’ve also toyed (ahem) with the idea of writing an opera for kids before, but maybe a ballet would be the way to roll…
